There are few things as satisfying as waking up just before dawn in the African wilderness and while waiting for the coffee to brew, spending some time reading the ‘bush newspaper’. That is: investigating the fresh tracks around the camp to see what silent visitors you might have had during the night.
Moments like this brought me to Africa, and moments like this keep me here. I am a journalist, photographer, and author of several books about Africa. I am a lecturer and a fully qualified safari guide. Yet most of all, I think of myself as a traveller and a storyteller.
And that is precisely what this site is all about. We want to share our insights and experience from this beautiful continent: useful facts and our own travel philosophy. And we want to inspire you to put on your boots, pick up your hat, and head out on your own African adventure.
